Over easter weekend I went camping to San Simion State Park against my own free will. I have nothing aginst camping or beautiful San Simion but I perfer not to camp in the cold rain for educatioanl purposese. I'm currently taking Zoo 323, Ornithology, and find it very enjoyable, I don't mind getting up at 5:30 every wednesday for a 5 hour feild trip, but I don't perfer to go camping in the COLD RAIN. So this was the plan: leave Friday night and camp in the cold rain. Saturday get up at 6am and go briding in the cold rain until 6:30pm, then study for the test. Sunday (Easter) get up at 5:30 am and take the 4 hour feild test in the COLD RAIN! The waether not only make being there a "joy", but because of poor lighting it was hard to distinuish a westeren blue bird form a cliff swallow or a trukey vulture form a red tailed hawk, ( I guess I need more practice). Sunday at 11am the test was over and the class was dismissed to pack camp and leave. 11:20am Laura and I leave San Simion park, I thinks that's a packing record. So we are driving down the 1, about ten minutes out of San Simion and that's when it hit us, literally. Out of the right corner of my eye I see a ball of feathers take flight. He flys over the hood of Laura's black Ford Ranger, inches form the hood, and just when I think he's going to make it he smacks into the lower left hand side of the windsheild. Laura and I look at each other in disbeliefe and began to laugh uncontrollably. You see right before we hit the bird of unknown species we were talking about how much we hated this trip. Making statements like, " The rain dosen't cancle the trip, Dr. V cancles the trip", and " mountain lion injuries don't cancle the trip, Dr. V cancles the trip." and so on and so forth. ( Dr. V being the instructor) So to hit this bird was sweet revenge. we thought about stoping to pick it up but it took of Laura's will power not to drive off the road with laughter. All in all It wasn't that bad, but the class seems to be cursed because every lab it rains. What are going do?
